Early Childhood Education

At ACS, we are dedicated to providing a child-centered environment where children learn joyfully.

Early Childhood Education at Almaden Country School includes Begindergarten (four-year-old preschool), Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

In our Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, we focus on each child as an individual who is accepted and valued, while encouraging the child’s development in small and large group learning activities.

The ECE curriculum is a developmental program based on a sequence of skills and designed to develop the whole child, emphasizing social, intellectual, emotional and physical growth.

Learning takes place using a hands-on, multi-sensory approach at each level — we hear, we see, we say, we do. Children learn to work, play, and share with others, developing self-esteem and interpersonal skills through a variety of engaging, meaningful classroom experiences led by our licensed Early Childhood specialists.

The ECE experience provides a strong foundation for future academic and social growth, introducing children to the stimulating, positive learning environment at ACS.

Earliest isn't best. Fastest isn't best. If what we want for our children is a lifetime of excellence — in experience, in ability, in knowledge — we must be responsible enough to wait and thorough enough to look at all sides of their development."
