Take a Personal Tour
One of the best ways to evaluate Almaden Country School is to observe our teachers and students in the classroom. During our one-hour tour, a member of the admissions team will explain the history and philosophy of our school, and then guide you through classrooms where you will see teachers and students in action.

If you have children in more than one grade, we would be happy to incorporate a tour of other grades into one of the regularly scheduled tours.

Attend an Open House
The ACS Open House takes place on pre-scheduled Saturdays so teachers are free to visit with you. You are encouraged to ask in-depth questions about our teaching practices and our curriculum. You may also examine textbooks and see samples of students’ work. After a brief welcome from our administrative team, one of our Middle School student tour guides will be your personal escort to the classes and programs that interest you most. Bring your whole family and let your prospective student gather his or her own opinions about ACS. There is one weekday Open House for families who would like to see classes in session.
Our 2012/2013 Enrollment Open Houses are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. – noon on the following days:

• January 26, 2013 (Saturday)
• March 23, 2013 (Saturday) This is for the 4 year old and Junior Kindergarten programs

Participate in our Shadowing Program
Our Shadowing Program allows your child to become an ACS student for two days and gain a first-hand perspective on our school. Once a student has applied to ACS, the Admissions Office will call to set up shadow dates. A personal shadow buddy will partner with your child through each day’s classes, during which your child will do the same work and activities as the other students. As part of the shadow experience, our teachers will confirm your child’s academic grade level and observe how your child integrates socially with the other students. We will then share that feedback with you during an individual family interview with our Director of Advancement. To experience ACS firsthand, contact our admissions office at admissions@a-cs.org.
