ACS Connect is new this year, a powerful software tool for ACS parents that provides a wide array of features and services. For now, ACS Connect will provide you with:
Family Directory
There's multiple uses for this:
1. ACS Connect links you to the family directory where you can update and manage your information.
2. You can also look up other ACS families' contact information.
3. By clicking on "Nearby Families" link, a list will appear to find families that live near you for carpooling, neighborhood get togethers and more. It lists families closest to you first and then extends out to five miles.
Faculty Directory
All of our teachers, their class assignments and their contact information is available here.
Grade Lists
If you want a list of students by grade, visit the directory, click on the grade you are interested in and voilà. (Note that this feature lists all students in a grade, rather than in a specific classroom.
My Children
You'll see a profile for each child you've enrolled at ACS. It provides the child's current location (for example, it will indicate if they are in their classroom or at PE or art) and attendance record. For parents of Middle School students, you have access to ongoing current assignment and test grades and their report cards.
Calendar
We are still determining how to best utilize these calendars so please use the calendar at www.almadencountryschool.org as your go-to resource.
There are four calendars: household, school, athletic and birthday.
Household: This has items that pertain to your children, such as class field trips.
School: This is a school-wide event calendar.
Athletic: We will not be utilizing this calendar at this time.
Birthday: This calendar includes birthdays for all students, faculty and staff.
Definitions
• ACS Connect calendar focuses on child-specific activities including some school-wide events.
• Almaden Country School web calendar includes all school-wide events.
Other features that you may notice that we are not planning to use at this stage:
• Upcoming Homework for 6th, 7th and 8th grades
This feature will not be used. Hard-copy planners are for homework and help children build organizational skills and self-reliance.
