Before & After School Care
At Almaden Country School, we believe children benefit from having comfortable places to gear up and wind down at school that is safe, enriching and also extends learning.
We offer complimentary supervised morning care for children enrolled in grades Kindergarten through eighth from 7am - 7:50am each day that classes are in session. The morning care program takes place in our Imaginarium makerspace where children can work on projects, read, rest, or do homework. (Starting the 2017-18 school year!)
ACS also offers three after-school extended care programs in addition to the complimentary before-school morning care:
- The Apple Tree: Licensed Extended Care Program for Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students
- The Apple Orchard: Licensed Extended Care Program for 1st through 4th grade students
- MASH: Middle School Activities, Sports and Homework program for our 5th through 8th grade students
Apple Tree/Apple Orchard
The Apple Tree and Apple Orchard are open Monday – Friday, 3pm – 6pm. The Apple Tree program offers an after-school program for Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students, while the Apple Orchard is designed for 1st through 4th grade students. Each program provides a secure, supervised learning environment, offering stimulating activities that engage minds and spark imaginations, as well as opportunities for the unstructured play so vital to healthy childhood development. Our teaching staff is comprised of caring professionals who are trained in the latest health, safety, and educational practices.
MASH (Middle School Activities, Sports and Homework) is our after-school program for students in grades 5 - 8 from 3pm – 6pm, Monday - Friday.
MASH offers students a chance to complete their homework assignments immediately after school, freeing up additional time in the evening, as well as providing opportunities for on-campus activities and socializing. MASH also accommodates participation in after-school sports and clubs. Students can attend the MASH program between 3 and 5 days per week, as well as on a drop-in basis if space is available.
